px achieve Order of Distinction in Health and Safety awards
Fellside CHP plant, which is operated by px and is located next to the Sellafield reprocessing facility in Cumbria has been awarded a Silver Achievement Award. px was also awarded three Silver Awards for their head office in Stockton and two other sites which they operate; Greenergy’s Fuel Terminal in Plymouth and Greenergy’s Biodiesel Plant in Immingham.
David Rawlins, RoSPA’s Awards Manager, said:
“px group has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour the px sites through the presentation of an award.”
px Director of SHE, Stewart Mortlock said:
“This is confirmation of our continuing commitment to SHE and we firmly believe that we are taking the necessary steps to make px a safe place to work for employees, contractors and visitors alike. We will be pushing even harder in 2012 and beyond to make our workplaces even safer”.
The primary aim of the RoSPA Awards scheme is to reduce the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work however it also encourages organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems.
px has already started to plan for next year’s awards which they hope will be even more successful.
The awards event was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on Tuesday, May 17th. The ceremony took place alongside the Safety & Health Expo 2011, Europe’s leading annual health and safety exhibition
